Traveling with the Little Prince | Creative writing Course for children 9-12 years old

Starts at:

6th of April 2024
Time: 17:00 – 18:30

Location
B&M Theocharakis Visual Arts & Music Foundation

A creative writing, imagination and expression workshop based on The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. A wonderful story for young and old, translated into over 300 languages.

A few words about the plot of the book

The book’s narrator crashes his plane, which has been damaged, in the desert. There he meets an unusual child, the Little Prince, who meet and become friends. The Little Prince asks the most pointed questions, sees the world in a completely different light and is not afraid to tell adults hard truths.
The Little Prince narrates his visit to other planets, where there are vain people but also some more “human” ones (a few of course). On his journey he makes some insightful and idealistic observations about life and human nature and teaches the narrator about emotions such as the meaning of loneliness, love, loss and friendship. Within a few pages, all of human nature unfolds.

Some of the most “famous” phrases in the book

“You only see clearly with the heart. The essence is invisible to the eyes.”

“Grown-ups never understand anything on their own, and it’s tiring for children to have things explained to them over and over again.”

“People don’t always need advice. Sometimes all they need is a hand to hold, an ear to listen and a heart to understand.”

Do you love long trips? How often do you put yourself in other people’s shoes? Have you ever wondered what exists outside our own planet? Can you share your feelings by expressing them through creative writing?

For you, dear, young friends who love… world travel, use your imagination, enjoy every moment like a child, love to discover new things and… overflow with emotions, come and share the story of the Little Prince by adding your own writings strokes through elements of your character, discovering new “personal” planets and coloring all your feelings with words!

And remember: what is worth is the “travel” with your own “luggage”! Your Guide at this wonderful Journey will be: Elpida Minadaki, author of children’s books, screenwriter and actress.
